Business论文模板 – Self Awareness

In the understanding of human personality, self awareness is an integral component of social intelligence, which can also be referred to as intrapersonal intelligence. It infers the ability to undertake a detailed introspection of the self in order to understand one’s beliefs, strengths and weaknesses, thoughts, emotions, and motivations. As a focused future professional, it is my obligation to understand my environment and the people around me. This means that I must have a clear knowledge of the external world, but this can only happen after I precisely define who I am. Self awareness is the knowledge of who I am separate from the external factors that define me in a different way. In this context, I will highlight key strengths, skills, work values, and drive and motivations that relate to my employment options. In addition, I will explore my accomplishments, social relations with others in my current and potential work environment, as well as my future plans.

Strengths

Decisiveness, innovativeness, and time consciousness are some of the key strengths that guide how I respond to different tasks at hand. As an aspiring professional in the field of Business Management, decision-making is a daily undertaking that is paramount in the running of the daily affairs of a business organization. In many cases, a manager is an integral part of the decision-making framework and the ability to make decisions fast and accurately describes a great manager. Having taken human-metric test based on Carl Jung and Briggs Myers, I have been able to identify that I have a slight preference of intuition over sensing. This has informed me that I like to be a strategist and focused in making decisions that not only affect the present, but also the future. For example, I have been the chairman of a University Students Association for two years and my record has been splendid with regard to the association’s use of resources and participation in national issues.  Leadership of the association requires the making of several decisions and as one of its leaders; I have ensured that we have never disappointed our members.

Based on the same Jungian personality type score, I have the penchant for creativity, imaginativeness, and most importantly, innovativeness. Innovativeness requires that new things are put into use. It is closely associated with inventiveness or invention. Invention is the process of bringing something into existence while innovation is putting something new into use. A business manager must live in the present, but be focused on the future with the aim of making the future better. This is only possible if new things are introduced so as to change the current modus operandi in any organization. As such, I love being part of a new technology or innovation. In collaboration with a few friends, I have participated in the development of a 101 Business Incubation Center that invites potential investors and well wishers to listen to young college students with entrepreneurial dispositions and business ideas. Although this has happened all over the world, I take pride in the fact that I was the brainchild behind this scheme in our business school students association.  Time consciousness to me is not only strength but also a business management virtue. Time is of great essence in management. I like to accomplish my tasks on time.

Skill to Develop

I consider myself a competent professional and a business manager. I have the managerial knowledge and disposition, and the generic knowledge of human resource management. However, I need to work on my emotional competence in management. Sometimes, dealing with people may lead to outbursts or anger. On certain occasions, I have lost it in terms of emotional response mostly when dealing with nagging clients. For instance, while working with a telecommunications company one year ago as a volunteer, I engaged in an altercation with a client who kept on asking about the same thing for several minutes. It did not go down well with my supervisor who summoned and warned me against such responses. Anger issues are my undoing, but I have registered for an anger management program, as well as visited my course counselor so as to grow as an emotionally competent business manager who knows how to deal with people with different emotional concerns.

Work Values, Motivation, Drive, and Energy

I believe in delivering quality first then quantity. As a business manager, there is need to ensure that my clients are not only given quantity, but that they are also able to appreciate the quality in that quantity. This refers to customer satisfaction. It is usually said that the customer is always right and if the customers are able to appreciate my services, then, it becomes my motivation, drive, and energy to continue offering what my customers or employers appreciate. I consider it an integral work value standing for something and working for its delivery. Consequently, I believe that my career will blossom into a successful journey if by the end of the day; I shall have delivered the expectations of my clients or employers. As such, I will have to commit myself to working hard, with honesty, focus, and devotion.  Only then will I realize the full accomplishments of my career journey.

Significant Achievement and Relations to others

My hard work throughout my academic life has brought me this far. It has been characterized by challenges but I have kept the determination, faith, and energy to realize my dream. It might seem as just the beginning, but it has been a successful beginning. Secondly, I have been part of numerous initiatives such as 101 business incubation program and also helped hundreds of students through my duties as the Chairperson of a University Students Association. The beginning or my start can only promise a better, industrious, and life changing future career. Also, this demonstrates how I have worked within a team in the accomplishment of a common goal. I have known that a team can only realize success if it works as a unit. Members of a team must relate with each other despite the existence of any diversity. I have also worked in study groups most especially in a project work. The experience has been positive all the way.

When I worked as an intern cum volunteer at a telecommunications firm, I faced one of the most difficult persons I have ever met. He was our supervisor. He was tough, keen on even the tiniest details, emotionally sensitive, and sometimes demanding and petty. However, I learnt to deal with him because he was just an employee trying to achieve his targets. First, I ensured that I did what he expected of me so as to limit problems and secondly, I paid due attention to my responsibilities.

My Future Planning

As I have started in the larger part of this statement, I am focused to become a business manager in future. In other options, any management duty such as HRM would also suit me. As I take my Masters Degree in Business Management, I plan to involve myself in several administrative and managerial undertakings. I am already seeking for attachments in some of the largest business organizations for purposes of gaining invaluable experience.
